I have a lot of support and am very grateful my parents my partner my partners parents and my brother and sister are all very helpful. They help me with spelling grammar and punctuation on important documents, and when I can’t get help from them with everyday stuff, most word processors have a spell check . So I copy and paste most things in to word to check my spelling and to remind myself that I need to put in the full stops.
I’ve heard people say "you’re not dyslexic your lazy"
If that was the case I would not spend time correcting my mistakes.
When I write something it takes twice as long because I have to spell check and read through to try and fix my grammar. So actually far from being lazy being dyslexic I often feel I try twice as hard. Which is difficult when you’re unsure where you’ve gone wrong.
Some people don't believe dyslexia is real, well im not here to argue if it is or isn't, I believe it is real.
Dyslexia has affected my whole life in many different ways but I certainly do not see it as a negative affect on my life, far from it Dyslexia is not an illness it is a different way of thinking. I am glad that I think the way I do.
When some one finds out I am dyslexic I don't want them to think, oh dear you have dyslexia poor you!
I want them to just think oh, your dyslexic, you just think in a different way.
I know some people struggle with dyslexia they struggle and/or feel stupid.
Its all about your state of mind you can feel sad that your finding certain things hard to do ut you can also be glad that you are an individual with your own unique way of looking at the world.
